Lisa loves painting people and animals involved in everyday life and domestic activities in a colourful and cheerful way. A few years living in rural France and on a narrowboat provide many an inspiration. Now based in Wimbledon, rows of terraced homes and allotments, horse riding and dog walking on the Common are current themes.
She went to Camberwell School of Art obtaining a BA with Honours and worked as a freelance illustrator for 3 years for Radio Times, BBC for Schools and various publishing houses. She was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Award for ‘Gudrun’ published by Kestrel books.
She was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1996 and the Society of Graphic Fine Artists in 2015.
Prizes include Dry Red Press Award in 2015, Kingsmead Award in 1997 and a commendation at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1994. She has won prizes in the Artist of the Year competition run by Artists and Illustrators magazine in 2008 and 2018. She also won an award in Global Artists competition in conjunction with the Bridgeman Art Library in 2016.
Lisa exhibits regularly at the Mall Galleries in London. She has also had works exhibited in many locations, most recently in Woodstock Oxfordshire, Holt Norfolk and St Ives Cornwall.
